Our Founder's Vision
From Heart to Reality
Willow Creek’s journey began with a foster child named Ryan, who inspired our founder, Sonyia Bleckert. Seeing the gaps in traditional education, Sonyia started a transformative journey that led to the birth of Willow Creek. From a modest beginning with five students, our school has grown into a haven for learning and personal growth.
Traditional programs proved inadequate for addressing Ryan’s distinct needs, propelling Sonyia on a personal quest. She pursued education and research, immersing herself in the intricate world of special education. Her mission transcended understanding Ryan; it was about creating an environment where every child could flourish.
Guided by her unyielding commitment, Sonyia established a transformative educational approach. With a profound grasp of challenges faced by children like Ryan, she founded a Special Needs School in Eshowe. What commenced as a journey to serve her foster child swiftly blossomed into a beacon of hope for parents seeking a nurturing, inclusive education.
From modest origins, Willow Creek has burgeoned into a vibrant community celebrating and empowering students with unique abilities. Sonyia’s vision of a school that embraces individuality, nurtures emotional well-being, and fosters growth has spawned an environment where each student’s journey is treasured.
